I woke up early this morning wondering if mist or clouds would spoil our view of totality. The promise of totality came true together with a large crowd of eclipse chasers spread out over a sports field at Oregon State University. We were amazed by all things we had heard about like the drop in temperature and the sharp contrasty shadows. Nothing would have prepared us for that corona encircled black hole in the sky surrounded by a rich blue sky. A memory not soon forgotten .
