Abell 2218
This capture of Abell 2218 represents a very deep image acquired from the VCO. At a distance of ~2.3 billion lightyears Charles mentioned the tenth brightest galaxy in the cluster sat at magnitude 17.6: this image contains over 100 galaxies. My intent was to detect a gravitational lens, however the short total integration time scuttled such plans.
The data consists of 40 minutes of 5 minute subframes captured through the Meade 14" guided on a Paramount ME recorded with a QSI583c@-10*c from the Victoria Centre Observatory. Matt Watson assisted in the data acquisition(slept through this one actually).
