M81/82 with SN 2014J
First results from Garry Sedun's new observatory in Arizona. This is a mosaic of separate image of M81 and M82. Note that supernova 2014J can be seen in M82. It was dimming but still very bright when this image was taken and is the bright star to the lower left of the nebular core.
Details
2014-02-27 at the Sedun Observatory.
Conditions - clear 10 deg C with moderate seeing and no wind.
Modified Canon 6D camera on 20" f/4 Newtonian with a TV Paracorr coma corrector and a Paramount ME mount.
Exposures - 4min at each of 400, 800 and 1600 iso with 10 flats and 4 similarly exposed darks.
