Sun in Ha - a large mountain-shaped prominence with another smaller prominence under it
Date: June 18, 2010 3:44pm PDT
Location: Victoria, BC, Canada
What originally caught my attention this afternoon when I looked through the eyepiece was the large, mountain-shaped prominence with another smaller prominence under it. There was another large prominence visible which reminded me of a haystack. The third spectacular prominence which was separated from the solar surface completely eluded me while observing through the eyepiece. This spectacular prominence wasn't revealed to me until I processed my images.
