The flare at 10 o'clock was twin spires with the second spire detached from the surface. The flare at 8 o'clock was very special - a perfect circle with a lovely black hole in the middle. Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice, since the camera's autofocus just wasn't up to the job. The flares at 7 o'clock formed a virtual forest of flares of various shapes.

Equipment: Olympus u770SW point-and-shoot digital camera a-focal through Lunt LS60THa + LS50FHa solar telescope mounted on an Astrotrac & Manfrotto 055 tripod.

Processing: ACDSee Pro 2.5 - moderate contrast stretch, crop. Edge detect:Sobel.
