Solar prominences in Ha

Location: My home, Victoria, BC, Canada

There are a whole series of moderate sized prominences lined up next to each other at the 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock position on the Sun. One of two highlights is the completely detached glob of plasma shooting out into space at the 10 o'clock position visible in this photo near the left edge.

Equipment: Hutech-modified Canon T2i dSLR a-focal through a 2.5x Powermate, IDAS VLC filter, & Lunt LS60THa + LS50FHa solar telescope mounted on an HEQ5 tracking mount.

Processing:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 - Crop, reduce colour depth to 8 bit, apply Sobel method edge detection.
Adobe Lightroom 4 - adjust brightness, annotate
