Venus and the Pleiades Night 1

Venus and the Pleiades Night 1

I was out tonight to see Venus alongside the Pleiades. I was wondering if I would miss it as there is a tall grouping of trees at the end of the cul-de-sac where my westerly view is. I went out an hour earlier before it was dark and I could see Venus as it danced in and out of the thin cloud. An hour later it was a brilliant spectacle. I took this image with a 70mm focal length but I enlarged the pair further to show the detail. To the left of the inset you can see the Hyades and Aldebaran with its distinctive V shape.
