Backyard Saturn
This image of Saturn could be called "Why I like small refractors". I have been trying to get a good image of this lovely planet using a 14" SCT and have had some success. However this one done with a 105mm Williams Optics triplet apo is significantly better than my previous best.

Clear warm evening with no wind and 12 Degrees C.
WO 105 mm APO with 20mm WO eyepiece used in eyepiece projection to give f/36 on HEQ5 mount. Canon T3i camera operating in cropped video mode.
Exposure - used 1204 of 1720 video frames taken at 1/30s and ISO 3200.
Processing in Registax and Photoshop.
