Black Eye Galaxy (M64)
This is 40 minutes on the Black Eye Galaxy (Messier 64) captured on a prospecting night in March 2013. I found that the low focal length of the Televue 127is used to capture the target did not provide an ideal framing, so I only captured 8 five minute frames. The image was calibrated with dark, flat, and bias frames. Processing was accomplished using Pixinsight.
The main feature in this image is the central dustlane that serves as its namesake. Despite the shallow focal length and low total integration the Televue did resolve structural detail within the dust.
