The Whale (NGC 4631)
This is one hour and fifty-five minutes of five minute exposures captured with a QSI 583c through a Meade 14" LX200 at f10. The files were calibrated with darks, flats, and bias frames and stacked/processed in Pixinsight.
The Whale is an edge on spiral with a companion. The dust features in the galaxy are very prominent. The galactic bulge can be picked out by the colour shift toward yellow in the center of the image.
