Messier 81/NGC3031 (Bode's Nebula)
This is an image I captured last night from the Victoria Centre Observatory on Little Saanich Mountain. The object is Bodes Nebula, or Messier 81/NGC3031, a spiral galaxy about 12 million light years away.
The image consists of 14 five minute exposures captured at iso400 with a Canon 6D captured with a Meade 14" SCT (Focal length ~3660mm) at f10. The imaging payload was autoguided using PhD2 on a Paramount ME. I calibrated it with 10 darks, 100 bias and 18 flat frames,
