The Trifid Nebula, known as Messier 20, is a combination of an open cluster, an emmission nebula (red), a reflection nebula (blue) and a dark nebula (dark gaps within the emission nebula and designated Barnard 85).
Messier 21, an open cluster, is located above-left of the Trifid Nebula. Three dark blue stars can be seen in the heart of the cluster.
