This image of M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy is one of the first captured with the new Hyperstar imaging system on the 14" SCT of Victoria Centre Observatory. Remarkably a 5 second exposure on the QSI camera has captured the shape fairly well The image is in black and white because it has only been stretched without color processing.
