This is a 20 minute processed image of M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy captured with the new Hyperstar imaging system on the 14" SCT of Victoria Centre Observatory. It has been made by stacking 20 - 60s exposures and calibrating with flat, bias and dark frames and sharpening the result in Images Plus with some color enhancement and noise reduction done in Photoshop. This version has been cropped somewhat more.
