Moon and Mars Conjunction

Moon and Mars Conjunction

Around 20 minutes later the Moon and Mars were just over 1.5 degrees apart. The cloudy area at the horizon had cleared and the Moon was a more brilliant white. Mars was still richly coloured. In the next couple of months Mars will be optimally positioned for observing and imaging.

I have provided an inset of Mars. The image doesn't do justice to the colour. You'll have to venture out and see it for yourself.
