Perseid Passing by Bootes and Corona Borealis

Perseid Passing by Bootes and Corona Borealis

During our stretch of good weather I put out an extra camera while imaging and caught this Perseid streaking through the western sky. Though I focused on the radiant in Perseus I started off the evening pointing in the direction where I had seen the most brilliant meteor strikes. The characteristic coloured streak is a reminder of the various elements that meteors are composed of and the colours that they emit as they burn up entering the atmosphere.
