M57 the Ring Nebula
Despite the bright moonlight, haze and humidity, I decided to give M57 a try. tracking and focus are a little off, and my cat Kamali'i head-butted the OTA a few times which didn't help much.
The Ring Nebula was the first object I ever viewed through a telescope; it was at the DAO when I was about 12 years old.
Telescope: vintage 1972 10" f/5 Cave Astrola reflector GEM powered by an old-school Accutrack analog drive corrector.
Camera: Canon Digital Rebel XTi DSLR ISO 800 at prime focus.
Exposures: 12x30 seconds lights, 5 darks.
Processing: Deep Sky Stacker, Irfanview, PhotoShop 6 for contrast, colour, unsharp masking, and crop.
