NGC1499 California Nebula
This is a reprocessed version of image 140. The California nebula is quite beautiful and has a lot of interesting detail. I used a homemade microfocuser which helped in gettting precise focus back in 2007 when better tools were not available.
Details
Date and location - 2007-10-12 at Astronomy Hill near Victoria.
Equipment - Modified Canon 350D with 300 mm lens piggybacked on HEQ5 mount.
Exposure - 116 light and 38 dark frames at ISO 800 for 60 s at f4. 20 flat frames were used in calibration.
