Inside the Rosette

An image of the centre of the Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) with its lovely star cluster (NGC 2244) shining brightly in the centre. It is about 5000 Ly distant in Monoceros.

Data taken between 2018-12-14 to 2019-02-06
20" f/4.6 telescope at the SDG Observatory of Garry Sedun in Arizona. TeleVue 3" Paracorr coma corrector and Moravian G3 16200 camera with off axis ZWO ASI 174 mini guiding camera and Optec Gemini Focusing Rotator. Mount - Paramount ME Exposures - 23 B. 44 G, 33 L and 33 R subs each 300s with darks and bias, but no flats for calibration. Processing in Pixinsite and Photoshop.
