M82 - The Cigar Galaxy is a distorted edge on spiral. This image is a composite from sessions taken at the Plaskett Obsrvatory and the Victoria Centre Observatory in Victoria BC. I am grateful to Dave Balam who operated the Plaskett telescope.

Conditions - very clear periods between cloudy ones.
Exposure - R filter 3x60s, V filter - 5x60s, B filter 7x60s.
VCO session
Date 2013-05-06
Conditions - clear, 19 deg C with dry skies and good seeing.
OSI 583C color camera on C14 SCT operating at f/10.
Exposure - 27 - 5 min lights, 16 flats, 7 Darks and 15 bias frames with camera temp -10 deg C.
Processing - Images Plus and Photoshop.
