At magnitude 14 the small galaxy, Arp 333 or NGC 1024 is a challenging but fascinating subject. Note the thin circular arms that resulted in ARP333 being given the designation, "Unique" by Halton Arp who included it in his Atlas of peculiar galaxies. It lies in Aries and is accompanied by several other smaller galaxies a number of which can be seen in this image. Details - Date and location - 2018-02-11 Conditions - 20 km wind. Seeing fair. 20" f/4.1 telescope at the SDG observatory of Garry Sedun in Arizona. TV Paracorr coma corrector and Moravian 1600 camera with off axis ZWO ASI 174 mini guiding camera. Mount - Paramount ME Exposure - 5R, 6G, 5B, 10L all 240s. Cal frames - 16 dk,14 bias, 11 flts for each filter. Processing - Images Plus , ACR and photoshop.
