Orion Region - Ha enhanced color

Orion Region - Ha enhanced color

A very wide field of the region around the Orion Constellation captured in H-alpha enhanced color. The bright object on the left is the Rosette nebula. Barnard's loop circles the belt and sword region of Orion. The Star cluster Collinder 69 that forms Orion's head is surrounded by a faint glowing nebula.
Details-
Date and location - 2101-02-19 and 03-05 at the Victoria Centre Observatory.
Conditions - clear nights with temp. 8 deg C and little wind.
Equipment - 28mm lens on modified Canon T1i camera filtered with a 13nm Ha filter for the H-alpha frames.
Exposures -
Color 28 - 30s exposures.
Ha - 14 - 240 sec plus 31 exposures 120 sec exposures. Dark and flat frames were used for calibration.
Processing in Images Plus, Registar and Photoshop.
