M17 Swan Nebula
M17 – the Swan or Omega NebulaThis is my second go at this lovely nebula and the first with a modified camera to get as much of the nebulosity as possible. The dark sky at the SSSP helped to give me a fairly deep image.
Details
Date and Location – early morning of 2007-08-12 at Cypress Hills at the Saskatchewan Summer Star Party.Equipment – Williams 105mm with modified Canon 350D on HEQ5 mount.Exposures – 30 light and 29 dark frames at 58 sec and ISO 1600. In addition, 25 flats were used in the calibration.Processing – Alignment, stacking and digital development in ImagesPlus followed by some enhancement in Photoshop.
