I had been waiting for a clear night at the Sask. Summer Star Party and on Saturday Aug 11 it came. I took a series of exposures from northern to southern horizon to produce this panorama image. The meteor at the center was an unplanned fortunate addition.

Date and Location – 2007-08-11; Cypress Hills at the Saskatchewan Summer Star Party.Equipment – Canon 30D camera with 17-50 mm lens on tripod.Exposures –3-30 sec frames for each horizon region and 2 for the zenith all at f 2.8 and ISO 800 and 17 mm focal length. Processing – The frames for each region were aligned, stacked and given a mild digital development in Images plus. Then Photoshop was used to align the regions and adjust the exposure and color to match.
