This is an image of the moon and Venus 3 days before new moon. The dark side lit by reflected sunlight from the earth shows through some thin cloud that add a nice foreground.
Details
Date and location - 2011-03-01 at La Ensenada Star Lodge in Costa Rica.
Tripod mounted Canon T1i camera with 70-200mm lens at 100mm focal length.
Exposure - 0.5s at f/4 and ISO 800.
