The Virgo Cluster
This Rich Cluster is the nearest large cluster to the local group of Galaxies that includes our own Milky Way. It is about 59 million light years away but can still be seen in backyard telescopes. North is at about the 2 o'clock position.
Details
Date and location- 2008-04-25 at Cattle Point Victoria.
Conditions- +5 deg C, clear, fair transparency and good seeing.
Equipment- Modified Canon 350D with 80-200mm lens at 200mm on Astrotrack mount.
Exposure- 57 lights and 39 darks at ISO400 for 60sec each plus 20 flats.
