South and east of Canis Major is a fairly blank looking region to the eye but has a lot of lovely clusters and dark lanes in the milky way that show up in a dark sky.
Details:- Date and location - 2009-02-25 at La Ensenada resort in Costa Rica.
Modified Canon 350D with 17-50mm lens at 24mm focal length.
Exposure - 23 light and 20 dark frames at ISO 800 for 238s each with 8 flat frames for calibration.
