What an incredible experience!!! I planned a year in advance to fly across the country from BC to NB to see the eclipse and was somehow blessed with some of the best weather along the path of totality. I wanted to primarily focus on the experience but I set up my camera with a wide angle lens and an inexpensive solar filter and let it go while I enjoyed the show. Of course you always hear from people who see a total eclipse how awesome it is but it's hard to really comprehend it, even though photos, without experiencing it yourself. I was planning on looking at the ground for weird effects there (some wavy light patterns??) and seeing how the color of red objects changed but really I couldn't take my eyes off the sun and moon. Maybe at my next one ;)
