NGC 6992 The Eastern Veil
Part of the so-called Cyngus loop, the remains of an ancient supernova, the Eastern Veil is a target for me every year. The intricate weave of red Hydrogen and teal Oxygen are fascinating. This image is an HOO blend of about 3 hours of Ha and OIII, along with 1 hour of RGB data for the background stars. Shot with a 5" apo refractor at f/5.5 from urban Victoria BC.
