M45 - The Pleides
One of the nearest open star cluster to Earth, M45 contains many hot B type stars, embedded in dust clouds reflecting their light. The odd striations and patterns in the clouds are not clearly understood. Not all of the visible "seven sisters" are included in this photograph. This is an Hight Dynamic Range approach, focusing on the delicate dust patterns without the overwhelming light of the stars. About 6 hours of RGB data from urban Victoria with a 5-inch refractor at f/5.5.
