Last night I thought it would be clear to see the close proximity of Jupiter to the Moon. Just under 4 degrees I was hoping to see the two together in a binocular like field of view.

It was hazy towards the horizon line and like many times I waited for the predicted rise using a tree line near Rithet's Bog. There's a red beacon almost due east and there's enough elevation that a Moon rise is readily apparent by the brightening of the sky.

This time Jupiter was rising first so I was able to see the tiny globe trying to burn through the cloud. Minutes later I could see the Moon with the silhouette of trees in front of it.

Eventually a clear spot emerged and I was able to capture this golden cloud covered moon with a nearby view of Jupiter and its moons.
