I went chasing this pair this evening as the neighbourhood trees blocked the view. Venus and Mercury was less than 1 degree apart. Cloud came and went but I found the most interesting frame was when Venus was partially blocked by cloud. This cut down the glare revealing its crescent shape. Mercury ended up in the trees looking like a tree ornament.
