M13 in Hercules and the Red Giant HD 150998
Dan Posey and I were out at the VCO Friday night and were looking for an object to image. I was obviously ambitious in attempting the Elephant's Trunk nebula near Cepheus given the Moon was rising and the skies were filmy. Being realistic we settled on M13. I had not imaged at this wide scale and had not noticed objects near by such as this red giant HD 150998. This is a crop from the even wider field provided by the NP127.
