Lunar Conjunction with Venus and Regulus
An early morning and to avoid a lot of driving I stayed in the neighbourhood and revisited the spot I photographed a rising moon with Jupiter in 2022. It looked suitable facing the right direction.
There's a treeline I remembered from last time with a red beacon which is due east for reference. I could see Jupiter shining bright much higher up in the sky. Azimuth wise it was to the right of the red beacon. According to Sky Safari Venus would appear first about the same amount in azimuth to the left of the beacon. Before long I could see a somewhat reddish Venus climbing above the trees. The first few frames revealed the Crescent Moon was there and soon Regulus would appear also. Regulus was not as bright so wasn't as apparent visually.
The earthshine was beautiful with the nice 5.1% illuminated waning crescent.
The view through the binoculars showed the trio perfectly, as my short refractor did with a 32mm eyepiece.
