The Post Supermoon Rising

The Post Supermoon Rising

Having missed the supermoon last night I wandered out tonight waiting for the moon to rise. Hardly a soul around. Armed with Sky Safari on my phone I pointed it at the horizon line to see where it would appear. For extra confirmation I could see Arcturus in the field of view so I had a pretty good idea where it would appear. Suddenly a bright arc appeared ... in cloud of course but soon it rose above the clouds. The moon moves faster than you think, especially at the horizon line where you have a point of reference. The ground references made it look huge. A pleasant 30 minutes and back to the comforts of home.
