SH2-136 - The Ghost Nebula (Cepheus) in LRGB
Although it wasn't a dark night when my camera caught this apparition, it was a dark and strormy night when processed on Oct 31. Such ghosts take a long time to appear, and even a single long exposure may not reveal its presence to you. One has to keep both one's mind and shutter open.

Total Integration Time = 24 hours

SH2-136 is referred to as a globule - I think becuase it is just a globule of dust. There are serveral stars embedded within and around the globule that are eroding its integrity - creating fingers in the clouds and creating its ghostly shapes. Some of the clouds form an opaque veil over the stars.
At least that's how scientists explain it. The supernatural explanation is much more interesting.
