C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) at Mount Tolmie
It was a marginal night but with the impending few days of predicted rain it was worth trying to get a better picture of the comet. New venue, the lookout at Mount Tolmie overlooking the city. In spite of the cloud and poor transparency the comet was finally detected after identifying Arcturus and following the stars down from the head of the serpent (Serpens Caput) . A binocular spotter found it and I was able to confirm the location with my camera. Due to the thin cloud the starfield has a fuzzy glow. While we were waiting to acquire the comet the Hunter Super Moon was rising behind us.
