M36 and M38

This pair of clusters, not to mention M37 close by, is always a treat in the eyepiece. Below M38 you find the smaller open cluster NGC 1907, and two nebulae: NGC 1931 and IC 417.

Location: DAO, old 16” site.
Constellation: Auriga
Optics: Borg 77EDII at f/4.3
Camera: Canon 20Da on Kenko SkyMemo.
Exposures: 74 light frames of 60 sec, ISO 800. 1 hr 14 min.
Process: Calibrated with 30 dark frames and 30 flat frames in ImagesPlus. Combined using MinMax Excluded. Colour balance in Photoshop.
