Crescent Moon

Crescent Moon

A waxing crescent of the Moon taken during the 25th annual Mt. Kobau Star Party. Mare Crisium stands out in this 3.92-day-old shot of the Moon. Interestingly, Mare Crisium (620km by 570km) is unique among the Moon’s flooded basin – it is the only completely flooded major ringed basin that stands alone, without connection to any large mare.
