Deer Lick Group & Stephan’s Quintet

The Deer Lick Group consists of the bright spiral galaxy NGC 7331 and numerous galaxies located east of 7331. Some of these include NGC 7335, NGC 7336, NGC 7337, and NGC 7340. Visible southwest of NGC 7331 is Stephan’s Quintet, NGC 7318.

Constellation: Pegasus
Location: Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, Victoria, BC
Optics: TeleVue NP-127is used at f/5.2
Mount: Paramount ME, guided using PhD
Camera: QSI 583c, cooled to -25 degrees Celsius
Exposure: 40 light frames of 180 seconds
Processing: Light frames calibrated with dark and flat frames in ImagesPlus. Light frames normalized and combined using MinMax Excluded.
