I started off searching for the comet with my binoculars but thin haze and a brighter than expected contribution from my suburban lighting made this difficult. To avoid bringing back nothing I brought the tracker and 35mm lens to see if I could spot it.
The Big and Little Dipper stars worked well as references and with a wideangle lens it was relatively easy. The comet in suburban skies is not very bright but was visible using some electronic assistance. I didn't try again with my binoculars but given another clear morning I'll try with my 76mm refractor now I know what to expect.
