The Helix Nebula, NGC 7293
This image of the Helix Nebula was captured on September 1st and 6th 2021. I used a Celestron Edge HD 925 and an ASI 2600MC Pro and 6:20 total exposure time, with 180s subs, the first night & 240s the second. It's a planetary nebula of a dying star, 650 light years away. You can see a white dwarf in the center, which illuminates the nebula with UV light. While similar to M57, the Ring Nebula, it 1/3rd the distance and over twice the diameter, so it fills the frame of a large scope.
