This might not be as deep or detailed as some other versions of M42 I have uploaded recently, but it was produced in a very simple manner, and was interesting enough I figured it was worth posting. The image is just 42 minutes of 30 second light frames from a Canon T2i at iso 3200. I shot the images through a Stellarvue 90mm apochromatic refractor at f7, tracking unguided on an HEQ5Pro. The images didn't have flats, but were calibrated with darks and bias frames, before stacking and processing in Pixinsight.
