Way, way past dark-thirty at the 2010 RASC star party and I was getting pretty sleepy. But I couldn't resist taking a few shots at M31 just to see what would happen. Image acquired ~0300 Sunday August 15.

Location: Metchosin BC
Telescope: W.O. Megrez 90 on Synta EQ5 GEM. Unguided.
Camera: unmodded Canon XTi, prime focus, ISO 800, using Canon Utilities and Zoombrowser EX for camera/imaging control.
Exposure: 22 x 60s lights, 5 darks.
Processing: Deep Sky Stacker, PhotoShop 6 for curves and levels, colour processing, unsharp masking. Irfanview for final TIFF-to-JPEG conversion.
