Just before you get to Jordan River, there is a main logging road that goes up the hillside and overlooks the entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There are two level roads on which you can set up easily to observe. This is a stitched together panel of 90 degrees of the horizon. The left hand side of the picture points straight back toward Victoria and the right side is due south. There is essentially a 360 degree clear view of the sky. I needed to scrape down a level spot for my scope but it only took a few seconds.

This is the darkest place I have ever been on southern Vancouver Island. At midnight with no Moon in the sky my Sky Quality Meter reading was 21.87! This equates to a naked eye limiting magnitude of 6.99.
