L'Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic
On an exceptionally warm September weekend I drove to the Eastern Townships and returned to the observatory I once visited thirty years ago. This time I decided to hike the 5-km-trail to the summit. The dome, located at an elevation of 1105 m, houses a 1.6-metre Ritchey-Chrétien telescope which happens to be the second largest telescope in Eastern Canada after the David Dunlap Observatory. Unfortunately the observatory was not open to the public at the time of my visit. – Charles
