I was a little disappointed that I was not able to take more images of the corona so I decided to work on what I had. I have a total of three images of totality and the extremes of the dynamic range is challenging which is why photographers try to capture as many frames as they can. This is an experiment with just one RAW image, but I expect I would eventually incorporate all three if I can.

The vibrations in my small tracking mount and the weight of my camera rig took its toll. The capacity of the mount was designed for smaller lenses so I was definitely pushing the boundaries. As a consequence there is some distracting afterimages in the edges of the Moon. I decided to artificially occult the Moon and Sun by creating a circular selection and filling it with black. This also allowed me more freedom in stretching the remainder of the image to better see the streamers. This was greatly aided by the use of HDR toning and the RAW image that I had captured.

I was also after an image that would closely match what we saw with our naked eyes during totality. I shifted the background tone to a blue to approximate the darkened sky during totality. For me this closely matches what I saw.
