M13 The Hercules Cluster

M13 The Hercules Cluster

We've had a clear and dry spell in Victoria for the past couple of weeks. Not that I'm complaining. Tonight at the VCO Michel and I worked on imaging some globular clusters. The Hercules Cluster is a relatively easy target to image given its overall brightness. It turned out to be the perfect subject for the Meade 14 inch.

Telescope: Meade 14" Fl 3556mm f/10 with 2x Powermate
Camera: Canon 60da
ISO: 800
Exposure: 15 lights 12 darks of 3 minutes each
Software: Maxim DL5 for stacking; Adobe Photoshop CS5
