Venus and Moon Occultation April 22 2009

Venus and Moon Occultation April 22 2009

The photo op this morning at Cattle Point was almost a total washout. When I arrived at 5:10am the dark clouds were still covering the area where Venus and the Moon were hiding. This is not uncommon for events like this unfortunately. Just before the occultation I did get a few glimpses as you can see from the images. I'm glad I did get some visual views through the telescope before this. It was quite stunning to see a Crescent Venus alongside the Crescent Moon. Unfortunately I couldn't capture this in the images.
