Occultation of Venus

Occultation of Venus

1300:50 hrs, Locked on target awaiting the event. Hand held point and shoot in auto mode through a 12mm eyepiece. Cropped. I don't know the true validity of the exact times but they are what I found in the data within the camera. What they do show though is how rapidly the final moments of the event took place.

Forgive the quality of the images. The sky was hazy so you gets what you gets. The scope was a f/8 dob, 12mm Speers WALER eyepiece and an old Canon Poawershot S50 in auto mode were used to take the shots. The event was witnessed from my backyard in Metchosin on the very southern tip of Vancouver Island.
